You, the World, and RIJI Green
Mon, 02/06/2012 - 16:34 — admin
We live in a world where so much is going wrong. An estimated 27 million people are held in slavery, and statistics show worsening conditions for the global environment.
We don’t have to sit back in complacency and watch the downward spiral, however! Although most of us are not the ones who kick down doors to free slaves or perform scientific research to save the earth, we all have opportunities to change the world for the better.

Urge President Obama to Help End Slavery
Fri, 01/27/2012 - 13:48 — admin
Whether it’s by protecting the environment, empowering the powerless or fighting slavery, we
all have the responsibility to make the world a better place. No matter the size or extent of our
deeds, whatever we do can only be beneficial. Even small actions can result in huge changes.
IJM is providing an opportunity for such a change to take place by calling for signatures to urge
President Obama to help end slavery for good. The goal is 27,000 signatures, each of which will
represent 1,000 of the 27 million people held in slavery today. Here is the link to IJM’s appeal
Triple Your Giving with Holiday Presents
Mon, 11/21/2011 - 11:05 — admin
Most of us multitask. Why not multitask with our presents? Give wonderful gifts that keeps on giving to help a mother and a survivor of human sex trafficking to provide for her children. Help a mother and survivor to earn fair wages by buying RIJI Green totes. Then she will be able to reinvest her fair wages to provide healthy meals for her children, pay for their education, and keep them from being at risk of slavery.
All She Had was a Bag
Wed, 09/21/2011 - 13:50 — admin
Smita* is a single mom of two children in India. Employment is scarce and her family became homeless. All she had was a bag with all her belongings living on the streets with her children. She started to sell stuff from her bag in order to have money to buy one meal a day for her family. She would sell her clothes, jewelry, utensils, and soon the bag ran out of things to sell. What was left to sell to feed her children- was her body.
American Girls Rape for Profit
Thu, 04/07/2011 - 10:53 — admin
Human trafficking is a problem here in the United States. We have labor trafficking such as domestic servants and farm workers. We also have over 100,000 American girls rape for profit every day/night. They are on our streets, in brothels, hostess clubs, truck stops, and more.
Girls who are most vulnerable have histories of sexual abused. In America, 1 out of every 4 females are sexually abused. Traffickers also prey on runaways who are found at bus stops.

27 rock climbs for 27 millions slaves ACCOMPLISHED!
Sat, 10/02/2010 - 20:05 — admin
Today was my most successful rock climbing day and I have to give all the credit to my husband, Sam, for his full support. He cheered me on and believed in me to overcome climbing routes that, I wasn't so confident about.
I climbed 6 routes today at Carderock, Maryland. By the time, I was half way done with my third climb, I had an adrenaline rush to complete the 27 rock climbs.
Mission Accomplished! 27 rock climbs for 27 million slaves around the world. Isn't it crazy that we live in the 21st century and slavery is the worst its ever been in throughout human history?
